What quality of yours makes you best suited for what you do?

I love to help people. I am an avid student of my craft, and I love discovering new ways to serve my clients.

What is your favorite place in Utah?

I love Utah’s diverse beauty of mountains, lakes, and canyons, and its pioneer heritage.

What is the best gift you’ve ever received?

The best gifts are my family, friends, work associates, and hundreds of devoted clients.

What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

I am most proud of having a 50-year career spent helping clients attain their financial goals.

What are some things you most enjoy helping clients with?

I enjoy the close relationship and trust I have with my clients.

What is something about yourself that surprises people when they first learn it about you?

Most people are surprised that I learned Vietnamese and served as an interrogator of prisoners of war during the Vietnam conflict.

Do you have a favorite lesson you’ve learned about investing/life?

The greatest lesson I have learned is to remain optimistic, ignore the economic and political noise, and keep on track.

I’m a good listener. I’m able to help people get out of their own way and help prioritize what matters most to them to help them see the big picture.

What is your favorite place in Utah?

Lake Powell.

What is the best gift you’ve ever received?

One of my little girls was born on Christmas Eve. Otherwise, my set of golf clubs.

What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

I’m going on four years of running 1,000 miles a year.

What are some things you most enjoy helping clients with?

I love helping someone with a lot of pieces solve the puzzle that is their financial plan.

What is something about yourself that surprises people when they first learn it about you?

How much I love everything Disney.

Do you have a favorite lesson you’ve learned about investing/life?

Stay patient. It’s not about the daily accomplishments: It’s about the long-term accomplishments.

What quality of yours makes you best suited for what you do?

I love learning new things, so meeting people and learning about their stories brings me great joy.

What is your favorite place in Utah?

Besides my home, probably Bear Lake; everything about it is fun: family, friends, water, raspberry shakes, etc.

What is the best gift you've ever received?

I got a go-kart when I was about eight years old. I was a big fan of the Mario Kart game that had just come out, so I remember being so excited to drive around the track in real life.

What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

As cliché as it sounds, I have to say marrying my wife.

What are some things you most enjoy helping clients with?

I enjoy helping clients live their best lives today while preparing themselves for the future. I love helping clients realize that they are going to be ok with their finances—seeing the excitement and weight come off their shoulders is so rewarding.

What is something about yourself that surprises people when they first learn it about you?

My wife and I were raised in a rural part of California. Growing up around agriculture, we’ve wanted to give our kids that experience, so we maintain a pretty robust garden with over a dozen varieties of fruits and vegetables.

Let’s write our plans in pencil and stay focused on the process of being a little less wrong tomorrow.

What quality of yours makes you best suited for what you do?

I am passionate about teaching others and financial planning. I am fortunate that this career allows me to do both daily.

What is your favorite place in Utah?

It’s a tie between Hobble Creek Golf Course, Deer Valley Ski Resort, and Lavell Edwards Stadium.

What is the best gift you've ever received?

Easily my two daughters.

What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

Serving a church mission, becoming a CPA, and trying my best to be a good husband and father.

What are some things you most enjoy helping clients with?

I love helping clients plan for all aspects of their financial futures and overcoming obstacles as they arise along the way.

What is something about yourself that surprises people when they first learn it about you?

Multiple times, I have achieved Galactic Hero status on the Disneyland Buzz Lightyear ride.

Do you have a favorite lesson you've learned about investing/life?

I have two favorite lessons:

  1. The right time to start investing and planning for your future is today.
  2. Money is a vehicle to help you reach your goals and bless the lives of others rather than the goal itself.

What quality of yours makes you best suited for what you do?

I care deeply about people. I want everyone to succeed in every way possible and will be your cheerleader throughout the process.

What is your favorite place in Utah?

I love so many parts of Utah. Trips to Saint George as a child is where I have the most memories with the people I love. However, there’s nothing quite like home.

What is the best gift you’ve ever received?

I love my family. Any quality time I get to spend with them will always be the best gift. Or a beautiful pair of shoes. A girl can have both right?

What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

I graduated from Cosmetology school six months after high school. Then I graduated from Utah State University a year and a half later with my Bachelor’s Degree in Technology Management.

What are some things you most enjoy helping clients with?

I do a lot of paperwork for clients, but I have found that it connects me with them and their stories when I speak with them on the phone.

What is something about yourself that surprises people when they first learn it about you?

I got in a bike crash when I was four years old. It left me with a big scar on my chin that tends to be a conversation starter for people.

Do you have a favorite lesson you’ve learned about investing/life?

My mom always told me growing up, “The cream always rises to the top.” Meaning, those with skill, a good work ethic, or a strong moral character will inevitably find success in life. Always believe in yourself and your goodness.
